I’m in my first year of college and in a relationship of 15 months with a guy who is my best friend, I’ve known him for years and we started dating at the beginning of our senior year of high school.
I go to a school in Boston, while he goes to a school in New Jersey. Its roughly 300 miles apart, 5 hours. We had been dating for about 10 months before college, and it was a really difficult thing to have to do. No couple wants to be that far apart. We had to make a decision, did we want to stay together, even through all that distance?
We chose yes. And I was terrified. I didn’t know what to expect but he promised me that everything was going to work out.
And so far it has! We just made it through our first semester of college and are still together. Happier and stronger than ever. But I’d be lying if I said it was easy.
So, that brings me here, to this blog I’ve set up. I want to help other people who are in long distance relationships. I want to connect with people who are going through the same things.I’ll try and post ideas to make the distance more bearable, stories of what works for some people, and just ways to keep your relationship fun despite the distance!
